introducing Winny & Lucky, mother & daughter team. 

many thanks to my friend, Claudine, for allowing me to take pictures of them. both were excited to see me initially. but when we locked them in the room with us for more than an hour for this shoot, they slowly gotten bored, and cldnt wait to get outta there! hahaha!

the bloody squirrel

i know that's a mean title, but that was exactly how i felt when i took these pictures. 

it was one of those weekdays morning when i had nothing much to do (since i was "retrenched"). i headed down to sentosa, went to siloso resort to have breakfast. there were like 10 squirrels running up and down the trees to get those fruits that were left on the fences by the hotel guests. i felt like i was in the zoo having breakfast with a group of squirrels. 

i thought it might be interesting to make them a subject. took my cam, mounted the zoom lens and i was ready. boy! was i ready to wait the entire 1.5hours? didnt expect that totally. they were just too quick, hyperactive. they were like thieves. ran down the tree, dashed to the fruits, munched a bit and off they went running up the tree with the food! oh man! the entire shot was almost 2 hours, with about 100 ish snaps of these (bloody) squirrels, and 4 cups of coffee. i didnt really have breakfast thanks to them!

patience - that is what i learned from this impromptu shooting. out of the many snaps i took, these two, to me, were the best.

i love how i managed (which was still quite unbelievable to me, since he was too quick!) to capture this fella square on!

not a bad picture after all, quite crisp. (i have to console myself! haah!)

holidays: her antics

she started the year with peace and serenity @ Pulau Desaru...

being the shopaholic, she hopped on to a bus, and headed to Kuala Lumpur. it was a 6 hours journey, but heck, all in the name of retail therapy!

March 2011

she celebrated her birthday with a Bang! treated herself to a shopping spree holiday in Hong Kong.

Lush! she spent an hour here...

oh! quick bites in between!

she was extremely naughty at Madame Tussauds!

finally! she met her match... someone of the same height!

she decided to fight her phobia of heights... and took the cable car to Lantau Island.

ppheew! was she glad it was over?!

& she shopped, yet again...

here you go. she went w a luggage, she came home w 3 shopping bags.

in Cambodia, she managed to dash across a busy road... in Singapore, she will walk a mile to the traffic light. haha!

 

one of the local dish - grilled frog... they called it Sexy Frog. oh yes indeed. these frogs have marathon legs. 

did she try those legs?

nah.. that's a shrimp Vietnamese roll. hah!

 oh! cliche! hahah!

she loves the tuk-tuk, and the driver too, Tola!

she was really tempted to get WASTED...

but she settled for coffee instead, while watching the locals...

she decided to go for a massage and was shocked to see the t-shirt and pants. it was an oil-less body massage, and she was on the bed with a girl for an hour! hah!

and now.. she's thinking where to go for the year end...

The Happy Ranch

there's a saying, "the way to heaven is on a horseback." hhmmm... let me try. and so I did when I was in Cambodia. it was my first time on a horse, and yes, I did enjoy myself throughout the 2 hour trail at the nearby village. it's a great way to get an inside look at true Cambodian life, quietly exploring remote areas on my well trained horse, Silver.

the scariest part of the journey... hahah!

i was in pain after the 2 hour trail!!! but, it was fun... breathtaking view, waves from the kids, smiles from the locals... it was worth it!
